Responsibilities
As a Welder, your key duties will include:
- Performing welding repairs on piping, plant equipment, and related structures
- Carrying out SMAW welding for fabrication and pipework
- Fabricating and modifying gangways, cradles, yard equipment, and sheet metal components
- Welding structural modifications on shiplift platforms, STC platforms, gratings, and rails
- Ensuring safe use of company tools, equipment, and materials with minimal wastage
- Maintaining good working relationships with team members, supervisors, and management
- Taking on foreman responsibilities when assigned to specific projects
- Verifying materials meet required standards before use and reporting any defects
- Completing tasks within allocated timelines to meet departmental targets
- Attending training sessions as required by the department
- Maintaining cleanliness and good housekeeping in all work areas
Requirements
- Proven experience as a professional welder
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, especially SMAW
- Experience in fabrication, repair, and structural welding work
- Ability to work in industrial or port environments
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to take on supervisory or foreman duties when required
- Commitment to safety standards and operational procedures
