Responsibilities
As an Environmental Services Cleaner, your duties will include:
- Performing routine and deep cleaning in patient rooms, clinical areas, and common spaces
- Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
- Disinfecting surfaces and medical equipment according to healthcare standards
- Restocking supplies in bathrooms and other facility areas
- Stripping linens and making beds
- Operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor care and maintenance
- Washing ceilings, windows, and other surfaces thoroughly
- Handling and disposing of hazardous waste safely
- Replenishing cleaning supplies and linens
- Identifying and reporting hazards to supervisors
- Assisting in training or orienting new staff when required
Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following:
- Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent education
- Basic knowledge of computers and smartphones
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Physical capability to lift up to 25 lbs and push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Willingness to work with chemical cleaners and industrial equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Attendance at mandatory training sessions, including Environmental Services Orientation

- Experience operating industrial cleaning equipment (e.g., auto-scrubber, burnisher)
- Knowledge of floor refinishing techniques, including stripping and waxing
