Responsibilities
As a Welder, your responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and repairing piping, storage tanks, equipment, and structures across the site
- Fabricating, repairing, and installing pressure piping in accordance with QA/QC standards
- Utilizing various welding techniques (SMAW, GTAW, etc.) on materials such as carbon steel, chrome moly, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings for assembly and repair tasks
- Organizing materials, tools, and procedures based on work orders and instructions
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures
Requirements
- Valid Welder Journeyperson Trade Qualification or 4th Year Apprentice certification
- Proven experience in welding and repair in industrial settings
- Strong work ethic and a demonstrated safety record
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and follow work procedures
- Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Holding (or previously holding) a Pressure Welder or CWB ticket is an asset
Skills and Desired Knowledge
- Proficiency in multiple welding techniques (SMAW, GTAW, etc.)
- Knowledge of welding different metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome moly, and aluminum
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship
