Responsibilities
The Structures Engineer will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining bridges and highway structures across Qatar’s strategic highway network. The role involves ensuring compliance with contractual service level agreements and key performance indicators while managing preventive and corrective maintenance activities. The engineer will utilize asset management systems such as MAXIMO and Bridge Management Systems to track inspections, work orders, and performance data. Responsibilities include analyzing structural inspection data, conducting structural assessments, supporting inspection teams, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient network operations. The role also involves planning rehabilitation and strengthening programs, ensuring compliance with international and Qatar-based standards, and contributing to innovation in bridge inspection technologies and asset management practices.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and have proven experience in operations and maintenance contracts for bridges and highway structures. Applicants should demonstrate strong knowledge of structural behavior in reinforced concrete, steel, composite, and prestressed structures, along with experience in bridge asset management and lifecycle planning. Experience with Enterprise Asset Management systems such as MAXIMO and Bridge Management Systems is preferred. Candidates should also be willing to travel within Qatar for inspections, maintenance activities, and site visits.
