Quarry Bay School is looking to appoint a Caretaker. The Caretaker is an important and highly valued member of the Quarry Bay School community.
The Caretaker has a visible role in the school and deals with students, parents, staff, and visitors every day.
This is a team leadership position. The Caretaker will lead the school’s amah team of 7 people.
The Caretaker will also work alongside the amahs. For example, they may help prepare for events or cover staff shortages. Duties may include cleaning and other tasks.
The Caretaker Must Be Able To

- Communicate well with everyone. Both English and Chinese are desirable.
- Plan in advance and make early preparations for events.
- Be prepared to do physical work, such as cleaning, moving furniture, and simple maintenance tasks.

- Maintain high standards of campus safety, cleanliness, and tidiness.

Experience
School or relevant working experience preferred.
Other Duties of the Caretaker
- Supervise and assist with the day-to-day operations of a team of site staff to keep the school environment clean and safe.
- Carry out safety checks and report school facilities, safety, and security issues on time.
- Be able to use simple working tools.
- Monitor facilities for maintenance.
- Arrange facilities for school activities.
- Set up and break down venues, such as meeting rooms or halls, for school events, including assemblies, meetings, concerts, and fairs.
- Assist amahs in hosting visitors.
- Maintain an adequate level of supplies for refreshment services.
- Assist with gardening work.
- Prepare the site for inclement weather and clean up afterwards.
