Responsibilities
As a Poultry Worker, your key duties will include:
- Safely catching, identifying, and vaccinating birds according to procedures
- Loading and unloading birds efficiently and carefully
- Cleaning and sanitizing vaccination equipment
- Working within intensive livestock systems to ensure optimal bird welfare
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Assisting with additional tasks such as shed cleaning, pullet shifts, and general farm duties
- Following strict bio-security and hygiene protocols at all times
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must:
- Be physically fit and capable of heavy lifting and repetitive tasks
- Be available for early morning shifts (2:00 AM to 6:00 AM starts)
- Have reliable transportation to travel between farm locations
- Be comfortable working in dusty, dirty, and outdoor environments
- Be willing to follow strict bio-security measures
- Not keep birds, chickens, or pigs at home (bio-security compliance)
- Possess basic literacy and numeracy skills
