Responsibilities
- Develop and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and maintain Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)
- Coordinate and oversee Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities such as UT, RT, MT, and PT
- Conduct welding inspections to ensure compliance with project and industry standards
- Review welding documentation, including welder qualifications and inspection reports
- Identify welding defects, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and implement corrective actions
- Liaise with clients, inspectors, and fabrication teams to ensure quality compliance
- Provide technical guidance and support to welding teams
- Ensure adherence to approved welding procedures and safety standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering or Materials Science
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in welding engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification (preferred)
- Proficiency in welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and NDT methods
- Strong knowledge of ASME, AWS, and API standards
