Responsibilities
- Perform welding repairs on piping, plant equipment, and fabrication of skip buckets.
- Execute SMAW welding for fabrications, pipe work, and sheet metal jobs.
- Weld for manufacturing and modification of gangways, cradles, shiplift platforms, STC platforms, gratings, and rails.
- Ensure safe usage of company tools and equipment while minimizing material wastage.
- Maintain effective working relationships with workers, foremen, supervisors, and management.
- Perform Foreman duties for assigned projects as required.
- Inspect and ensure materials meet quality standards before use; report any damages.
- Work within allocated timescales to meet departmental targets.
- Attend training sessions as required by the department.
- Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas.
Requirements
- Proven experience in welding and fabrication, preferably in industrial, marine, or logistics settings.
- Strong knowledge of SMAW welding techniques and fabrication standards.
- Ability to work with various metal structures and piping systems.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Physically capable of performing welding and fabrication tasks in industrial settings.
- Ability to collaborate and maintain positive relationships with team members and supervisors.
