Responsibilities
As a Shipping Assistant, you will:
- Process import and export customs permits for warehouse goods.
- Handle duty payment permits for local domestic sales.
- Liaise with customs officers regarding shipment arrivals and departures.
- Ensure accuracy of information applied in customs permits.
- Update customers on the status of shipments.
- Coordinate cheque requisitions to shipping carriers with the Finance division.
- Arrange prompt customs clearance with third-party service providers.
- Collaborate with internal customers for goods receipt and release.
Requirements
- GCE ‘O’ Level, GCE ‘A’ Level, Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Business Studies, Administration Management, Logistics/Transportation, or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in the logistics industry (preferred).
- Certificate of Customs Competency Test for Declarants by Singapore Customs (added advantage).
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and Warehouse Management System (WMS)/Exceed system.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong administrative and communication skills.
- Willingness to perform overtime when required.
