Responsibilities
As a Sanitation Worker, your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining cleanliness of production floors and surrounding areas using various cleaning equipment, including scrapers, brushes, vacuums, scrub machines, compressed air, and power washers.
- Cleaning ceilings, walls, warehouses, freezers, refrigerators, packing, and production areas.
- Performing lock-out, dismantling, cleaning, and sanitizing of production machines in accordance with master sanitation schedules and standard operating procedures.
- Adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Health and Safety guidelines.
- Collecting waste and recyclable materials and disposing of them appropriately.
- Assisting in cleaning major spills of liquid or dry product as needed.
- Performing specialized cleaning procedures according to master sanitation schedules.
- Complying with all food safety, health and safety, and environmental policies and legislation.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food production.
- Prior experience in sanitation, industrial sanitation is a plus.
- Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents.
- Ability to work any shift, including weekends and overtime, with flexible availability.
- Strong attention to detail to meet cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Passion for baked goods and the food manufacturing industry.
