Responsibilities
As a Dairy Farm Assistant, you will support all aspects of farm operations, including:
- Participating in the daily milking of cows and calving routines
- Feeding and caring for livestock, maintaining overall herd health
- Assisting with general farm maintenance and operational tasks
- Learning and using halter technology and automated systems for herd management
- Following organic farming protocols and best practices
- Supporting a safe and efficient working environment alongside the farm team
Requirements
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Enthusiasm for hands-on farm work and willingness to learn
- Experience in dairy farming or a strong interest in developing farming skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team
- Proactive attitude with a focus on animal welfare and health & safety
- A current NZ restricted or full driver’s license
- Legal right to work in New Zealand; able to attend in-person interviews
- Willingness to undergo a drug and alcohol test and criminal background check
