THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant to join the high-performing team at Tongariro Dairy. moreover In this role, you’ll assist with a range of farm tasks — from milking, calving, and feeding stock, to effluent management, spraying, and fencing.
You’ll play an important part in the day-to-day operations and work closely with your team to help meet production and animal welfare goals.
You’ll receive full training and support, and we’ll encourage you to take the initiative, develop your skills, and support newer team members along the way. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a great work ethic and a passion for farming.

THE FARM
Tongariro Dairy Farm is a 207 effective hectare property, milking 450 cows at peak through a 50-bail rotary shed equipped with MilkHub technology. It’s part of Pāmu’s Moutoa Complex, one of seven neighbouring farms in the area.
The location is hard to beat – just 5 minutes from Foxton, 10 minutes from Levin, and only 25 minutes to Palmerston North. With the Manawatū River nearby, the farm also offers great access to a range of recreational activities.
About You
You’ll bring a willingness to learn, get stuck in, your self-motivation, drive and willingness to contribute to the team’s success. Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Experience in a similar dairy farming role (or a strong interest in developing one)
- Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A proactive attitude with initiative and commitment to animal welfare and health & safety
- The ability to coach and support junior or
- A current NZ restricted or full driver’s licence
