Welder Job in Thailand: A company in Samut Sakhon is looking for a welding engineer for automotive production. The role includes developing and improving welding processes, checking welding quality, supporting new products, solving production issues, and training production staff. Candidates need a relevant bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of welding engineering experience in automotive manufacturing. Knowledge of MIG, MAG, TIG, spot, and laser welding is required.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and improve welding processes for automotive production. This includes Robot Welding, Spot Welding, MIG, MAG, TIG, Laser Welding, and other welding processes.
- Set and maintain welding parameters, procedures, and work instructions to ensure product quality.
- Monitor welding quality and investigate welding defects. Take corrective and preventive actions.
- Support new product launches by developing welding processes and checking welding equipment.
- Work with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to solve welding-related issues.
- Analyze production data and carry out continuous improvement activities. Improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Make sure welding processes meet customer requirements and automotive standards, including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and OEM requirements.
- Evaluate welding equipment, fixtures, jigs, and robots to improve production efficiency.
- Train production personnel and provide technical support on welding processes and quality requirements.
- Make sure welding operations follow safety and environmental requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3–5 years of welding engineering experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, including Spot Welding, MIG, MAG, TIG, and Laser Welding.
- Familiarity with automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
- Experience with robotic welding systems and welding process optimization is an advantage.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
- Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of AutoCAD or CAD software is an advantage.
