Responsibilities

As a Welder at PERI, your key responsibilities include:

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
  • Setting up and operating MIG welding equipment
  • Preparing materials by clamping, grinding, tack-welding, or bolting components
  • Welding aluminum formwork and scaffolding parts of various sizes
  • Inspecting welds to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with standards
  • Repairing and troubleshooting welding equipment when required
  • Using hand and power tools for assembly and repair tasks
  • Conducting daily equipment inspections before starting work
  • Maintaining accurate service and work logs
  • Assisting with inventory and cycle count processes
  • Following all Health & Safety regulations and company procedures
  • Keeping the work area clean, organized, and safe
  • Participating in safety meetings and maintaining best practices

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • Certified Welder Certificate (CW) or equivalent qualification
  • 2–3 years of welding experience (MIG welding on aluminum preferred)
  • Apprenticeship experience may also be considered
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints with welding symbols
  • Strong understanding of welding equipment setup and operation
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety standards in industrial environments
  • Experience in inspecting and troubleshooting welds and equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Skills and Desired Knowledge

  • Proficiency in MIG welding techniques (TIG welding is an asset)
