Responsibilities

As a Plumber, your key duties will include:

  • Installing hot and cold water systems and associated equipment
  • Carrying out stormwater and sewer installations
  • Performing rough-in work for water and gas services
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Designing and installing sanitary plumbing and water supply systems
  • Installing discharge pipes, fixtures, and below-ground drainage systems
  • Assembling and installing mechanical services such as air handling and heating systems
  • Installing gas appliances, flues, and pressure regulating devices
  • Fabricating and installing roofing, rainwater goods, and flashings
  • Completing final fit-offs with high-quality finishing
  • Following safety procedures, quality control measures, and standard operating procedures

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Trade qualification or currently a 4th-year apprentice
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing installations and Australian standards
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings
  • Legal right to work in Australia (full-time, 38 hours/week)
  • Q Fever vaccination or willingness to obtain it
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment

Skills and Desired Knowledge

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Solid experience in maintenance plumbing or similar roles
  • Problem-solving ability and self-motivation
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Reliability, punctuality, and efficiency
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Gas fitting licence (preferred but not essential)
