Responsibilities
As a Welder at Canam, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welds and supporting fabrication operations. Key duties include:
- Lifting, assembling, and tacking joist pieces at the jig.
- Setting up MIG welding equipment and performing welding operations.
- Reading and interpreting shop blueprints, drawings, and welding specifications.
- Positioning, aligning, and securing metal components according to design requirements.
- Producing precise, consistent, and defect-free welds.
- Ensuring proper setup and adjustment of jigs for fabrication work.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the work area and following 5S standards.
- Performing routine cleaning and basic maintenance of MIG welding machines.
- Following health, safety, environmental, quality, and Lean manufacturing standards.
- Supporting production targets and completing additional assigned tasks.
